PHYSIOTHERAPY
PHYSIOTHERAPY – Physiotherapy is physical therapy, only more globally accepted as the industry standard for mobility exercises. Physiotherapy helps restore movement and function when someone is affected by injury, illness or disability.
Interferential – The basic principle of Interferential Therapy (IFT) is to utilize the significant physiological effects of low frequency (<250pps) electrical stimulation of nerves without the associated painful and somewhat unpleasant side effects sometimes associated with low frequency stimulation. Recently, numerous ‘portable’ interferential devices have become easily available. Despite their size, they are perfectly capable of delivering ‘proper’ interferential therapy, though some have limited functionality and ability for the practitioner to ‘set’ all parameters.
Electric Stimulation – Electricity has been used to treat pain for over 100 years. Early proponents of electricity were labeled as charlatans, but recent scientific studies have proven that electricity can reduce both acute and chronic pain. Electrical stimulation may directly block transmission of pain signals along nerves. In addition, electrical stimulation has been shown to promote the release of endorphins, which are natural painkillers produced by the body.
